my nortrac tractor will start , but wont rev up for a little bit , it will after it sets and runs slow , then it will start to run good , would it be the fuel filter ? it has 300 hour. on it same filter, not sure what to check or do , Thanks for any help .

This problem occurs occasionally when the rack is stuck in the fuel injection pump and it takes the governor some time to overcome it. Check or change the oil in the injection pump, use the same oil as in the engine. Sometimes a sticking rack can be caused by scored barrel and plunger assemblies, caused by dirty/bug infested fuel. Remember - diesel fuel cannot be too clean or dry (meaning no water moisture). Keep the tank full when storing for extended periods.

Colder than you're normal? Just did a similar thread on this. Cold mornings unless block heater plugged in, start with manual throttle full open . Could be your fuel viscosity until it gets flowing. I used a diesel fuel conditioner in every tank. Mine has always been like this. Sometimes 10-15 secs, and sometimes a min or two. If it goes much longer or continuous, then yes fuel restriction somewhere or injection pump .

Yes to add, 300 hrs on filter, definitely change it.
