Bird, I had a similar problem whit Norton when I was running Win98. It seems Norton like to redirect incoming mail server information. I just changed it back to the ISP's server information and still had virus protection.

Got to Tools / Accounts / Properties and see if it is correct. I have attached a picture of the window.

Yeah, Larry, my settings are correct there. Symantec responded to my message with instructions that make no sense at all to me. I can get my e-mail simply by disabling the Norton Personal Firewall, so I'm not going to mess with it much right now; just too busy.

Just a suggestion... save your money, ditch NAV and get AVG-Free... http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1 tested by the anti-virus gurus as being 100% up to par. We ran NAV for years... my daughter started having problems with her computer (you know how kids will download anything)... couldn't figure out what was going on. Someone suggest a trojan horse virus... uninstalled NAV, downloaded the free AVG and B.I.N.G.O.! It found several mild viruses and a trojan right out of the gate. No more problems. AVG also checks for updates every single day... I hardly go 3-4 days before there is some definition update because of all the new worms and such being spread around.

I personally paid for the Professional version at the office for our computers... much cheaper than NAV and runs for 2yrs instead of 1yr.

Plus... AVG is not a resource hog like NAV (unless you are running NAV 2002 which isn't that bad). Norton's Systemworks is some kind of serious resource hog. It's really unecessary. AVG will do everything NAV will do and for free... you can take it to the bank!
