Tractor
Kubota 2660
It's time for me to make my tractorbynet debut. We recently purchased a Kubota 2660 with loader, tiller, and front-mount snowblower and I've got some Payne forks on their way. It was remarkably easy to convince my wife of the "need" for a tractor and when it was delivered, guess who jumped right on it. Turns out "city girl" had an inner "country girl". We've just got a small property but will use the equipment to maintain and enhance our landscaping and I hope to do some light scarification. Other related hobbies are gardening and we make a little maple syrup in the spring. My day job is administration in state forest management. I've used tractors at work occasionally for years but this is my first personally-owned one. I look forward to using Tractorbynet as a resource to effectively use my new cordless tool.

Welcome, been to Woodruff many times and always had a good time. Love you neck of the woods and the people. Just can't take the cold anymore or that is where I would be. You ever run across a Howard Easton or Jack Henrick?

Welcome, lot of good folks and good advice here. One ongoing issue with BX tractors seems to be the front axle fluid level. As you are drooling over your new tractor take the time to check that fluid level and let us know if if is still an issue.

Take care,

Not sure if "ongoing" is the proper wording, with all due respect...

Indeed the issue is, it seems, is all BX tractors are shipped w/o enough
UDT in the front axle to register correctly on the dipstick and it
seems everyone is adding approxamately a pint or more to get it
up to the level indicated as safe, my BX included.

There have been some reported front axle leaks and varying degrees
of success stopping these leaks by draining the UDT and adding
perhaps a heavier / 90W or so gear oil.

When my warranty is up I do believe I will loose the UDT and go
w/ a gear oil, that is a year away, we will see...
