Hey all!

New member from IL here. I picked up an old B7100 last Thanksgiving, it was in dire need of LOTS of $$$ and time. This spring she got split etc. Here's some pix... I have to split it again to fix the bent bracket on the clutch rod, will replace the front differential seal at the same time. The transmission oil is cloudy already, hopefully one more drain will do it!

Thanks!!

Wow, are you ambitious. That fluid looks like something that comes out of a baby. Take some final pics when it's out in the field working.

Had a B6000...those early small Botas were well made, and mechanically straightforward. They can take a lot of abuse and are easy to work on. Enjoy!

I've got it's twin brother a B6100. I also had to split mine because the clutch was never adjusted correctly which made a pressure plate finger break. I have similar pictures on here somewhere. Tough little machines though. That seat looks pretty comfy.

Thanx everybody!!

I believe that she spent part of her life at a rental facility, there's some stickers on it. Must have spent quite a long time out in the elements along the way too for that oil to look like that I'm guessing. I bought it knowing the clutch was bad, I'm not sure that had I looked at the tranny oil it would have changed much in buying her. I do know that she has a MUCH better home now! Still a few things to fix, and I'm definitely NOT looking forward to removing that FEL and splitting her again, but at least I know the dance steps now.

The seat: well, I'm not sure what I'm going to do about that. Supposedly a couple owners previous was a rather large guy, so my scrawny butt has to sit with only half my working end actually on it. I do have the traditional seat, I may figure out how to retrofit it back onto the mighty 'bota. Then I'll have to figure out how to fit the non-bota seat into the fishing boat...

Next time I do some actual work with her I'll try to stop and take a pic or two. I keep wanting to go buy some implements for her but alas, spring was devoted to working on tractors, summer has been devoted to working on the pickup truck: she must have gotten jealous of all the attention I was lavishing elsewhere. I seem to remember going fishing at least three days a week last year, oh well...

Thanx!!!
