Anyone use "Plasti-dip" or other brand of coatings on your tractor footrests/decks? I'm thinking of coating
mine and wanted to know about other experiences. I've used the stuff on tool handles and such and have been pleased, but didn't know how durable it might be for this purpose.
thanks

thanks, Whiskey! I didn't know the bedliner stuff was so cheap! Do you have to apply several coats?

If I remeber right it was only one to two coats, humm...no I think I did use two coats but the stuff is thick and rubbery, and if ya don't like it you havn't wasted much money and just wire brush it off. But, I'm betting you will like it I was impressed with it's looks and how well my shoes/boot's stick to it.

Look in the auto department where the motor paint is.

thanks, Whiskey! I like the idea of being a little more sure-footed on my tractor.

I did mine with the bed liner in a quart can. It was much more expensive , I have used it on many other machines. It works very well and it holds up well even under heavy commercial use.

Reed, does the bedliner stuff hold up well on the foot rest where you have to plant your foot to climb up on a Yanmar? I can't keep paint on that spot and have been trying to find a suitable piece of rubber mat to glue on there.

I think I might try that stuff for my brake and clutch pedals. I went for the clutch when I had a glob of mud or something gooey on my boot and nearly had a disaster when my foot slipped off.

Hey guy's:
While I was buzzing around Sunday morning took the digi camera out and poped a couple of shots so you can get a visual of what the spray on stuff looks like, got to thinking if I would have lightly sprinkled some asphalt, concrete powder or sand in it before it dryed it would probley even come out more sure footed....hummm always think of a better mouse trap when I'm done go figure. I tryed to show on the pic's that it does have some texture to it anyway

Thanks for posting the pics, Whiskey. The reason I asked about Plasti-dip is that I already have a can, but maybe the bedliner stuff would require fewer coats. For extra traction, the Plasti-dip label says to sprinkle some type of grit onto a fresh coat(wet), let dry, then spray another coat or two on top of that.

Unfortunately, I've had one of those close calls with a slippery clutch/muddy boot. I'm going to give the stuff a try on the footrests and the pedals.
