No problem with my BX24

   / No problem with my BX24 #11
I've had a BX23 for couple years now and have 65 hours on it. Zero Problems. I changed the engine oil/filter every 25 hours, grease it every 5-10 hours and changed the trans oil at 30 hours. This BX23 has been one of the most fun toys I've ever owned. I've dug up and picked up concrete slabs (with a chain and come-along) when I replaced my sidewalk and patio. I've hauled slag sand, dug up bushes and tree stumps and just about all the things you would use one of these BX23's for. I've had no problems at all. It takes a little longer with a BX23 compared to a big tractor but you can get into places that would be tough for a big tractor and the BX23 does relatively little damage to the yard.
Before I bought the Kubota BX23, I was going to buy a JD but could not find anything that compared in terms of price or size. And the other ones (New Holland, Simplicity, etc) were much higher priced with nothing that justified the higher price.
As best that I can tell, everything works the way it's intended or at least seems to work the way I expect it to.

So far the problems I've encountered with my BX24 are:

A) One of the four hydraulic coplers has a slow leak where the FL lines connects to the tractor - started after the 1st 5 minutes of use and the dealer didn't fix it at the 50 hr service dispite being asked and writing it on the repair slip.

I have the exact same problem that you and JEW have. I've found that when you lower the loader and shut off the tractor, that if you move the control level in circles to relieve the pressure from the loader then it won't leak. I'm definitely going to look into the O-ring thing. Thanks for the tip.

My main problem on my 24 is that the tach display would occasionally be blank when the tractor is cold and the guages would be dead. After twenty minutes or so they would all come back to life. I've checked all the connections to the displays. It seems to be a water/rain related issue. I looked at a Kioti today (it was orange, I thought it was a bota!) and it had a plastic cover over the ignition to keep moisture out when the tractor wasn't being used. I thought that was kind of clever. Maybe I can rig something similar, though the problem hasn't arisen in quite some time.

I also have the 3pt. lift knob coming off in my hand on occasion.

As far as the PTO selector getting stuck, it seems that if you just move the implement slightly either by hand or with the PTO then it will move. Kind of like having to slightly let up on the clutch in a car or truck to get a gear to engage.

Back when I was younger racing Hare Scrambles, we used to have the same issues after the major Motorcycle makers went from points to CDI ignition boxes. We use to thoroughly cover the CDI in silicone caulking, clear of course, in 1 or 2 coats, it was at least a tube, didn't look real pretty, but was under the gastank so nobody saw it. It worked! Just be sure its dry before ya seal it. We also had trouble with condensation prior to that in the points cover. We used to drill a small hole and put a nipple in the hole and route a vent line up high to prevent water frmm enter during creek crossings.
