Taking the valve apart and cleaning only takes a couple of hours or less, no cost. There is probably nothing broken.

The float on my valve is probably over 20 years old and still works.

Ok, I will give it a try. Any gaskets that need replacing?

Can't say for sure, but the Prince valve I used as a reference did not have any gaskets.
