No 15-40w SuperTech at my WalMart

When I was at my local (Hartselle, AL.) Wal-Mart yesterday, I thought I would cruse by their auto dept to get some 15-40w Super Tech for one of my Diesels. They were out, so I asked the manager of the area if he could check in the back room for more. He responded that it is no longer available for them to order. They only will be carrying Super Tech for gas engines. Has anyone else seen this in other Wal-Marts?

My local WalMart stopped carrying the one gallon SuperTech 15-40, but they still sell it in two gallon jugs. It is seperate from the motor oil on the hydraulic oil shelf.

I just saw the 15w40 Super Tech today at Wal-Mart in one gallon jugs. It was next to the Rotella. I wonder who makes the Super Tech oils for Wal-Mart? I bought some Rotella. Not that the Super Tech is not as good, I just don't know who makes it.

Well, I stopped by one of the other Wal-mart’s in town near by, they have the SuperTech 15-40w in the 2 gal. size. I’m thinking the Wal-mart near me is messed up on their info. As far as the quality of SuperTech oil, it meets all the specifications as the major brands do. It must be ok I have over 106K miles on my 2000 Ford Superduty without any problems. I have a by-pass filter on it and change out the filters, top it off at about 10k mile intervals. Our Kubota L3130 has it running through its veins.

Wally Worlds do not all stock the same stuff. Products are stocked that sell. Different stores can carry different items. This was explained to me by a WalMart manager when I couldn't find a product in a walmart store when I had bought that product in a different store. I suspect your WalMart did not move enough diesel rated SuperTech to "justify" the shelf space.

Yep, the local Wally dropped the Hydraulic oils, but added the DIY divorce kits, no kidding.

Anyone know who makes the SuperTech 15w40 oil?

I don't think Wal-Mart has bought any oil refineries yet...

It is probably an annual contract. Whoever has the best price for the spec'd material gets the business. Oil producer and the packager may be two different entities. Oil would be shipped to packager in tank cars.
