I know I come up with some weird questions, maybe without realizing it, I have a diagnostic cell somewhere in the gray matter.
This one....... Do you all have a Blue square containing a White check mark at the Right Hand side of the thread column, any time you are involved in that particular thread ? You have to be logged on for this to happen.
If you can answer before somebody decides this is not a worthwhile thread and removes it, I would appreciate your help.
Thanks for patronizing the old man in me. Bill

Bill;
I believe that blue box with the white check mark indicates that you are subscribed to that thread. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me.
By the way after I figured out your thread yesterday I was going to reply with the above answer but before I had the chance to respond one of our wonderful moderators deleted your thread.

Your only as old as you feel. ;) Heck I'm 53, I feel closer to 60 some times. Of course I don't really know what 60 feels like, maybe it gets better with time. ;)

Rivco,
Thanks for correct answer,the same as I was told on the reply to my PM.
I thought the question on this thread may help others who like myself began to wonder about the meaning.
Barry,
Thank you for the kind words, and although you did not reach any further into your future, you will find that there are many things which are "better". As we learn to use our time each day, and change into a slower gear from the hustle and bustle of younger life, it begins to feel very good. You are about the age which I told my sons to begin enjoying their non working time, kind of like semi-retiirement, then after a few years of retirement, find something to keep the brain and body working. I think the oldest one listened to me !!!

Hey, I resemble that remark! :D

The thread was removed about the same time Bill asked the question to me in a PM. I consulted with the other moderators and happened upon the answer before they could reply, so I sent Bill a PM with the answer.

The orginal question asked about a checkmark and paper clip. The answer was the checkmark indicates you are subscribed to a thread and the paper clip indicates a thread has attachments. If you hover your cursor over the paper clip for a few seconds, it should tell you how many attachments are in the thread. Hope this helps. ;)

So far as I know I have not "subscribed" to any threads. However, any thread in which I have posted has a checkmark so my understanding is that the checkmark means that you have posted in the thread.

Go to your "My Home" and you should see your recently subscribed threads. In the lower right, you can click on the link that lets you see all the subscribed threads that you have (I've got 790 showing :eek: ). IN that view, you can select if you want notification if anyone responds to that thread. Pretty cool feature if you want to keep track of a thread. :)

Now I understand--the system is programed to automatically "subscribe" a member to any thread the member starts or posts to.

Hey David,
Could you and your colleagues make a request/suggestion to the powers that be, because "subscription" has a very loud financial ring, that the word "contibution" would fit the actions better,such as " and Moss Road contributed a fix for your solution".
I knew I had not paid any subscriptions.

David;
please explain about the paper clip again because I don't see a paper clip just a blue box with a white check mark.

ALSO here's a mystery you might be able to solve (being a computer network tech. ). After you posted the above reply I happened to be going through my picture files on my personal home computer and guess what I found ?..A picture of a paper clip THAT MYSTERIOUSLY APPEARED, and guess what-- it is not one of my pictures nor did I download any pictures of any paper clips. I was hoping you might be able to shed some light as to how it might have been placed there?? :D
If you go into the Power Trac Forum and look at the list of threads, some of the threads have a paper clip towards the right of the thread title and to the left of the Last Post column. Some have check boxes instead. And some have both paper clips and check boxes. The paper clip just indicates that the thread has attachements in it, and if you put your cursor over it for a few seconds, it tells you how many attachments.
