Since we are back to this issue in particular, let me give you my thoughts. Most all backhoe installations I have seen on utility sized tractors (as opposed to compacts) are run from a remote valve. For any pressure detented remote to remain stroked, the pressure detent must be set higher than the highest system relief whether that is the tractor's relief or a relief valve on the hoe valve stack. The (repeated) inability to set the pressure detent in your case tells me the relief valve on your hoe valve stack may be set too high. IMHO Setting the pressure detent higher than system pressure when the remote is used as a power beyond source is a bad idea. Realistically, no one is going to reduce the kickout pressure when a simple cylinder is attached to the remote. This places the hydraulic pump in jeopardy if the operator does not realize the pump is deadheading against the relief valve. Been there, seen that. Leaving the pressure detent set to properly release using a simple cylinder and relying on a mechanical device such as the clip you illustrate is EXACTLY what I do EVERY time a downstream valve is used. A safer installation that reduces the potential for parts failure. In spite of your continued criticism of this installation, I feel you are better off IF you adjust the clip out of the way when the backhoe is off the tractor. The Kubota's open center system will require the same tradeoff if the hoe is operated from a remote valve spool.

Not a complaint or criticism, this lever allows the BH to operate otherwise I couldn't use the implement! The clip was other good example of a field mod put on by the great folks in Corvallis. The remote stack, and I'm assuming relief valves, have been swapped out twice.
I only use the third remote when the BH is in use otherwise leaving the valve open. The BH is going with the TN and not being mounted on either orange unit.

The tractor's relief valve is not located in the remote stack. I find it odd the pressure detent setting on more than one remote valve section could not be set high enough to keep from kicking out at backhoe valve relief pressure.
