I have a 2005 Tn 65. Big upgrade from my 1971 ford 2000. However its difficult for me to grasp the limits of my new holland great deal more horse power than my old ford. But the lack of weight is a big problem. Have anyone had any experience farming with this model tractor? If so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2000 TN65 and have the rear tires filled and a loader. It does everything on my farm that I ask of it. I run a 9' discbine and a NH 575 baler (both would work better with a little more hp but the TN does the job). I also pull a 3-14 plow and a 12' disc with it. I bale around 100 acres a year and plow around 20 (most in one year was 40 with this tractor).

Either fill the rear tires wit CaCL for balast or buy a set of rear wheel weights plus some front weights and a carrier for them to ballast your tractor properly. Get an owners manual and it will tell you the limits of weight that you can add.

All of today's tractors pretty much come stripped down on weight and you either have to added fluid to tires or wheel weights. For example I have a TN70 with no wheel weights or fluid in tires that is around 68 horsepower from factory. I dropped a 3 bottom 14" ford plow in the ground and it would just sit and spin on the TN70. I unhooked plow and hooked it to my old 255 MF that is only 55hp but weighs around 1,000 lbs more from factory with built in weight and it pulled it like its nothing. The old tractors where built to pull and todays tractors are really built for much lighter task like mowing and things of that nature. If you want them to pull you got to add the weight.
