NH TC40D Pto issue

I put my post hole digger on my tractor and backed it in position to dig my
first hole for a balcony footer, and when I touched the pto handle to engage it the tractor died and I cant get it started again... Where do i start
i assume there is a safety switch for there is a pto light on my dashboard
that came on.

Check fuse under guages, replace the 7.5 amp with a 10 amp.

Thanks for the reply but I already checked the fuses,,,, they are all OK

check the PTO safety switch I have had this happen before. Follow the linkage for the PTO you will find it. Also try pushing and pulling the lever several times, if that does not work by-pass the safety switch. Start tractor cycle PTO a few times then re engage the safety switch and adjust it.

If the PTO dash light comes on when you move the PTO lever, don't bother with the PTO switch, it's working. Check the seat switch circuit.

Rick B -- thanks you hit it on the head.... I found a short in one of the
wires on the seat safety switch,,,,, spliced in a new short section of wire
and resolved the problem...
