2005 NH TC 40 manual transmission - noticed foot throttle felt unresponsive, so advance RPMs with hand throttle, but when pulled hand throttle back, RPMs didn't automatically reduce. Searching here on TBN, NH forum and manual, but not able to find ideas on what to look for. So, will climb under and try to follow path of throttle rod/cable & see what might be going on...

ANY IDEAS? thanks, in advance.

Check the throttle linkages and/or cables for both the hand throttle and the foot throttle. It's probably just something jammed in the wrong place or just lack of lubrication.

THANKS, I did crawl underneath the tractor to get to the peddle linkage and cleaned/ lubed-- the whole throttle works well afterwards. (I didn't 'attack' the hand throttle because it's linkage appears to be housed inside/behind the plastic cowling underneath the steering column... I had that off a while back with electronic relay problems... didn't want to remove unless i had to).
