New Holland TC35A
What is the general consensus on the NH backhoe attachments? Does anyone here have a hoe that can give advice? I have a TC35A which might be a little small for a backhoe attachment.

I need to dig a ditch to install a culvert pipe. I could rent a backhoe for a day, but I am intrigued with the idea of buying a backhoe attachment for my tractor. We are going to build a house on some land that I have been clearing and getting into shape with my TC35. I can see where I might use a backhoe again several times in the future. Any comments on using a NH backoe attachment? Any idea (ballpark) what one might cost? thanks for the advice.

NH Backhoes are very well made. They are subframe models, but this is no inexpensive option.

For a TC35, you are probably looking at a 920GH or a 930GH. Here is a good link to the Boomer site that has mucho information:

New Holland | Boomer | Tractor Implements | Utility Backhoe

With some reserach and some luck, you may be able to pickup a used subframe backhoe. I believe the old number was a 757C or 758C that would fit that tractor.

New, you may be looking at about $6500 - $7500 installed, depending on your dealer. If you purchase one used, about $800 - $1000 for the dealer to install.

If you are only planning on using it several times, its one of the more expensive implements.

Right now, New Holland has some VERY attractive pricing on the 758/757 series backhoes. Since the introduction of the current model backhoes (930/ 920), NH is moving out the previous models. Probably would be a good time to check around with a few dealers to try to find one that has one in stock and wants to move it.

I have a TC33D with the sub-frame mounted 757C back hoe. As mentioned its one of the more costly attachment purchases. I have found many uses for mine having about 9 acres of property. Everyone who has that little digging job becomes your friend. While the 757 isn't going to rip out a 2' diameter stump it is a very capable digging machine. I have thoroughly enjoyed using mine.

I have a 758C on my TC45DA and it is great. I use it all the time to dig out cedar and oak trees on my property. I don't know how I would do it without the BH. It's saved a ton of work.

I can put mine on and off in just over 5 min. Very conveniant.

Can you give any indication as to what "VERY" means? How aggressive are they at reducing prices on the prior model?

I paid $6K for the new 758C complete and installed. For that price it's pretty hard to pass up. That included 0% financing because I bought it with the tractor. Price would be lower for cash, I'm sure.

I suspect that as time goes on, the dealers with stock on a 758C will become even more interested in discounting them.

I used a 758 for about 15 years and got great service from it. I'm snot sure I would want to dig a cellar hole with it .

my 757 and I did a lot of damage last summer:D and has already saved us around $25-30K just on this project alone. I say if you're building a new house... this attachment is a MUST:D

Thanks for that info. Nice deal

I have just finished up months of backhoe attachment research as to which make and model to buy for my TC-40. The backhoe makes that I would choose from would have to have a sub-frame mounting kit. That mounting kit would also have to be permantly attached to the tractor and not be part of the backhoe when seperated. Any detached backhoe is large enough to park and store as it is without adding another 6' +- of sub-frame rails. The out of production 756/757/758C NH backhoe attachments have the sub-frame rails attached to the backhoe when seperated from the tractor.
The backhoe had to be SAE fastened. I don't want to have to buy any metric tools. By the way-my Canadian manufactured Wallenstein BX42 chipper is SAE. I called Wallenstein and found that out before purchasing it.
The backhoe make that I would choose from would have to also offer a hydraulic thumb as part of their factory package. The hydraulic thumb that I wanted really cut the field down to just three manufactures. There may be more out there as I did not look too close at the offshore models.
I kept landing back on the Woods BH90-X Groundbreaker. It's going to cost you a few grand more but since this is my first and last backhoe, hopefully I will get it right the first time. It is being built now and I should have it attached by the end of the month.
One other thing-according to my NH manual, your TC-35 has the same 9.8 GPM hydraulic pump capacity as my TC-40. The Woods installation manual lists your tractor as also being eligible for the sub-frame mounted BH90-X. They do also offer smaller backhoes but none with a factory hydraulic thumb, mechanical only.
Hope this helps, it really comes down to what you expect (now and in the future) to accomplish with the backhoe.

If you still have some interest in the new holland backhoe let me know, i have a tc34da, and a woods 8 ft backhoe. Works great. i've put mine thru its paces. i've took out stumps, and dug drainage ditches, and footer for a barn project. i hit bedrock as little as 1 foot down and the backhoe did great breaking thru some of the rock and whatnot. my friend who has his own excavation business brought his mini excavator down to dig the footers, he used my machine for a little and said that its a really nice setup and had tons of power. he finished with his mini. He stated it had a ton of power, but the tractor needed more weight to help push thru the rock and soil. i got mine with the sub frame, instead of the 3 point. and a thumb to pick stuff up with, i'll try to post pictures if your interested in seeing what it can do. you just work slow, and small, and you can do almost anything with it. only thing i found is that you do have to move the tractor alot for doing ditches. i had my wife drive forward and i stayed on the backhoe. when i got to the spot i had her stop and put it in park and the fel down and then i put the outriggers down and started digging, that saved getting on and off a bunch of times. let me know if you want pictures of what it can do.

Newbie here.

We acquired an amazing TZ22D boomer with less than 45 hours on hourmeter.

With mower NH deck and NH snowblower

Can I mount a NH757C (with subframe) on this model for very occasional use.

Cost is not a factor.

Just looking to dig some drain ditches and plant some trees.

Thank you very much.
