Flail Mower NH 918H Flail Mower...Loud!

I just ran my flail mower (bought used at auction) for the first time. It cuts 91 inches. It is surprisingly loud compared to my JD 5ft rotary mower. As far as know while running it nothing is hitting or binding. It cuts really nice too. I figured that the flail mower would run quieter than the rotary mower. What is everyone elses opinion?

I just got a new 75" Caroni flail mower. It is the quietest mower I've ever used. Way quieter than a bush hog and quieter even than a Rhino finish mower. You can barely hear it running when it is not cutting and cutting grass is quiet too. Of course it makes a racket when chopping wood or turning an old car fender into confetti but otherwise it is so quiet I need to be careful to check that the PTO is off when I dismount.

I have the same mower as IslandTractor and agree that it is a very quiet mower. I am cutting weeds and small brush right now and I hardly know it is back there.
