NH 3040 fuse# 5 cruise control/Range shift

The 7.5 amp fuse started blowing awhile back. I have just been changing it out. Sometimes it lasts a few days, other times about 15 minutes. Any suggestions that I may be able to try before I send it off to the Dealer?

It has a short in the harness. If it’s under warranty, Let the dealer find and fix it.
Best you could do is patch it up. Let the dealer replace the harness.

Unfortunately it is no longer under warranty. How difficult is it to get to the wires? I have more free time in the winter and considered trying to follow the wires, but not sure what I would have to disassemble to do it.

Unless it has a cab, tractor wiring is pretty simple. You shouldn’t have to remove much more than access panels for the dash.

finally figure it out. Started blowing the fuse every time I raised the bucket. The wire going to the high low switch in the joy stick was getting pinched and shorted out every time it touched metal
