Last fall I my always dependable tractor would not start. My neighbor and I finally got it started by pumping it manually and then keep the throttle high and back it down slowly over about 20 seconds. I then ran fine, but then each time I started it it had to be at a high idle and then back it down slowly over 30 seconds. Checked all the injectors and bled them replaced the glow plugs, and put on a new filter bulb and fuel lines. Same problem as before so I took it too the mechanic at NH dealer. The replaced the injector rack and checked all my pressures and took the injector pump apart and cleaned it and rechecked all pressures and they are within parameters. Does anyone have any idea what is going on? It runs great, it just has to be started at a high idle and then backed down slowly. The colder it is the slower you have to back it down. Have a head bolt heater on it and it starts in any kind of weather. IDEAS!!!!

The dealer replaced the glow plugs so you can assume that they are working, but are they? Are the plugs actually heating up?

Yes the glow plugs are working as I have a coil indicator that shows resistance and it will start without being plugged in, that is in reasonable weather. I just have to start it at a high idle and back it down over a few seconds. It then runs fine and all is well.
