As far as the actual charge, maybe it wasn't DUI...he always refers to it as such; but, maybe it was something like the "presumptive control" you mentioned. In any case, he was took to the county jail.
Another wierd story: a friend caused an auto accident. There was a car stopped at a redlight and my buddy rearended the other guy. When the police arrived, they determined the other guy was drunk....he was charged with DUI and causing the accident. I can see the DUI; but, causing the accident? )</font>
Really strange and any lawyer could beat the charge without straining.
Another absurdity. Last year a guy got the local PD (Spokane Wa) policy changed with one complaint. He was stopped in the middle of a string of cars (3 or 4 IIRC), was hit from behind and shoved into the car in front of him. Ticketed for being at fault and it turned out that was the policy. Automatic 'at fault' ticket for everyone in such circumstances.
Not anymore after the story hit the newspaper.
