News Flash: New LS Tractor MT2E Series (Picture and Facts)

LS Tractor Releasing the New MT2E. My understand it will be 4 tractors. MT225E, MT230E, MT235E, and MT240E. Should be out very soon. Suppose to have a beefed up frame and Common Rail Direct Injection on the three larger models. I posted a video below.

I have been looking at the XG3025. The closest dealer told me last week his next shipment of XG3025 tractors was expected to be re-badged as the MT225, and would be in as early as next week. Said it was unchanged from the XG3025. I'll have to look closely when they arrive, because the tractor in the video you posted certainly has at least cosmetic changes (hood and headlights look different).

Afterthought: With LS moving toward "MTxyy" as their model naming convention (x for frame size, yy for horsepower), it leaves me wondering what they'll name the next generation XJ series, since it falls between the MT1 and MT2 size.

My information came from a person who has first hand knowledge and who has laid hands on the new tractor. The larger horse power tractors will have a much different engine without as much Regen headaches. There are some parts that are the same, but the frames are much heavier. I mis-spoke in the video. Its frame will be 10 gauge thicker than before. I am eager to see one in person.

I will not be surprised if the XJ goes away. The MT125 almost fits that niche and has been selling 10 to 1 against the XJ (from a reliable source.) We will have to wait and see.

That may well be, but that would leave a hole in the lineup at around 1900 pounds/25 horsepower, i.e, a tractor that competes with the Branson 2400, TYM 234, Yanmar SA324, etc. The X3025/MT225E is a pretty big step up in weight class from the MT125. 1,000 lbs difference.

If they are consciously abandoning that slice of the market, so be it, but it seems like a bread and butter area for some brands, and a good entry point for capturing future, brand-loyal customers.

They may keep it, bringing it in to the MT2 premium line up. They are going to have a MT2E and a MT2 lineup. That may be where it is going. Both are 25HP. Your weights are wrong. On the LS page, It shows the tractor alone at 1609 lbs. The XJ only weighs 160 pounds more than the MT125 coming in at 1444 lbs tractor alone. They both go up as you add loaders and backhoes staying within 200 pounds of each other. Having said all of that. I think the larger tires on the XJ and the taller stance helps in some applications.

Didn't realize the XJ was that light. Maybe they should beef up the frame? Still, my point remains: The new model naming convention doesn't have a "tweener" place in it for an XJ sized tractor.

Sure it does. They have not announced any of the MT2 premium models. They may put the XJ there, because it has the newer look. We shall see.
