42 9N
I recently bought a 42 9n from a fellow that has been in his family since new

his grandfather bought it new and when he passed his father got it and when he passed he got it with the hopes of restoring it ,, he told me it was running fine 2 yrs ago when parked but now motor is frooze and will not spin i pulled the plugs and have used PB Blaster down the cylinders and have let set for a week in hopes of freeing the stuck rings up ,, he made the statement Ford always wanted this tractor back from his grandfather why he does not know from what i have found it is a 1942 based on the sn 98358 the nice little tractor is in original cond for it's age nothing missing but lights sheet metal is in good cond also with very little surface rust .. so i quess what i am asking where is a good place to start with restoring this Gem in the rough it will be used for pulling a arena drag in our Rodeo arena that i purchased this pass yr for playdays and roping as well as parades

Sounds like you should start you restoration with the motor. Try some atf in the cylinders. And don't forget to treat the valves too.

yep, fill the cyls with atf/diesel mix and let set.. then after a week, try to bar the engine over a lil bit and then refill atf/ diesel.
