For the ubiquitous 4W CUT drive train - how many differentials? I assume there has to be a center diff to decouple front from rear, but what about the axles? I mean, they're tractors going a few mph, usually on dirt, so does it matter if tires slip on a turn? Just wondering.

Two differentials - one for the rear, one for the front, and no differential between the front and rear. Front unlocked from main transmission by operator when operating on hard surfaces - asphalt, concrete, etc.

Also, brakes on the rears, not the front. You only get braking action up front in FWD when the drivetrains is locking the front to the rears with the brakes.

3,500lbs L3200 in 2wd. 100-150lbs gate/panel on the backs of my pallet forks on the loader (over 1000lbs lift capacity). 4% grade towards the back of my barn where I store the panels.

I now always make sure to leave it in FWD & am trying to figure out how to patch 2 rectangular holes in the wall of my barn... It doesn't take much, I was at under 20% capacity by a good bit.

Let off the HST go pedal to stop. Didn't. Hit the brakes. Still didn't. Hit the the siding. Still didn't. Finally caught a pole & stopped.

Left some nice skidmarks on the ground (rear wheels only) not to mention in my shorts.

I knew about the issues, but assumed they only applied to being near capacity on the loader.
