I have a leaky fitting and to get to it I need to remove the one in front shown in attached picture to get at it. I loosened the nut shown and it lowers till it hits the column. Now I don't know how to finish removing it. Is it threaded and I have to undo the side nut on the hose and try and somehow twist/unthread it off? (Not alot of room to spin it) Or does it somehow pop off if I pull it down now that the nut is loosened? I don't want to pull hard until I know I won't damage it.

Once I get it off I plan to take the old fitting and hose to the local napa and get a new one.

Also I just got this tractor (it does run and hydraulics work) and don't have a way of finding out what transmission/hydraulic fluid is in it. I plan to use O'Reilly J20C but wondering if I have to fully remove all fluid and replace or just add new and not worry about what was in it.

Thx

I am going to say it's an ORB fitting. The nut compresses the o-ring once the fitting is in the proper position.
You will need to remove the hose from it first. To remove the hose, you may have to start at the other end of the hose, since it does not look like there is a swivel fiiting at the end shown.
Once the hose is off, the fitting will unthread out.

I could not tell from the picture if the hose went into a swivel or not, a swivel would make it easier.

Finally had some time to get back at it. Thx for the comments. I found out I have two types:

1) the nut unlocks then the fitting (L shape) must spin around to take it off (after removing the hose). This requires more space than I have.

2) the nut and shaft are one piece that has a swivel before the base.

The problem is that the #1 type won't allow me to take it off without removing all other ones and I am not sure I can get them back on as they would all need more room than I have. The #2 type is what I want but I just realized when I got back from NAPA they gave me the #1 type. back to NAPA :)....TB continued.
