Well I told you guys that I was coming home with a tractor yesterday. After 511 miles round trip I put the YM1700 in the garage last night at 11:30pm

I only have a couple of pics for now but will get more soon. I got a new set of decals, can or green paint and a manual. The decals on it are pop-riveted on this pieces of aluminum and I plan to drill the rivets out and replace the new decals and re-attach with new rivets to keep it original looking. The Tullahoma Tractor guys are great to work with and stayed over to make sure everthing was complete before I left. Sheet metal is in very good condition with original labels still attached. It has some touching up on the engine/chassis that I will take care of and all fluids/filters are new. $2400 out the door with a 6 month warranty.
There was a lot of difference between the 1500 and this 1700 as far as foot/leg room and a few more hp. She is ready to work, I have the 5ft blade ready to hook up today after work to move some gravel at our rental house across the road.

Congratulations! Good looking tractor. Have fun. Looks like mine. :) One thing that looks different is that my diptstick and oil fill are on the other side of the tractor. Otherwise it looks identical.

If you are going to use a rotary cutter (brush hog) make sure that you get an over run clutch for it. You will be hard pressed to stop that beast in a pinch without it. I used mine without it at first because I did not know anything about it until i found this forum. It will make a world of difference. All of the dealers here sell them. I picked mine up at the Napa store near my house. He carries assorted tractor accessories and parts.

How much is an over run clutch? Are there different types? Who sells them? Can you find them used?

I paid about $40 for mine about 3 years ago. There are 2 types that I am familiar with, the fixed and the quick disconnect. The quick disconnect is a little more expensive I have the fixed meaning that it stay on all of the time. The quick disconnect has a push button locking mechanism that you can take on and off without any tools. The fixed type that I have requires you to hammer in a roll pin thru a hole the PTO shaft. To remove it you would have to knock out the pin. I have heard pros and cons about both types. The con obviously on the fixed is that it is hard to get off. I have never had reason to take it off though. I have heard that if you use a tiller that it will not work because it extends the PTO shaft too much. I dont have a tiller. The con is that i have seen a number of the problems reporting with the locking pin mechanism failing.

I bought mine at a Napa store. I would think that any tractor dealer would sell them, the dealers on this forum, Tractor Supply.

BTackett, your tractor is gorgeous!!!

I haven't tried this, but: I wonder if adding a Quick Hitch would space the tiller back the same amount as the over run clutch adds to the driveline length? And then, could the hydraulics still lift the tiller?

Thanks guys. I am learning more about this every hour. I guess depending on the type clutch I decide to get. We have a quick hitch up at our other farm that we used on a Ford tractor that has been sitting in the barn. I may bring it home with me this weekend and see.
