New "XUV" Camo

Got my JD Camo Kit in today and had to put it on to see what it looks like. I will only keep it on during the hunting season when I have the machine in the woods. What do you'll think?...............Roger

Takes bout' two minutes to put on and take off. It is held on by heavy duty clips sewn into the cover and the bed has magnets sewn in to keep it in place on the top .......................Roger

I bought a set of camo skins on e-bay, but haven't had the time to install them. They were $75 I am sure the regular price is higher than that. It is a regular JD part. I will get you guys the part number tonight. It appears very well made.

My biggest gripe about JD is their parts numbering and labeling system. It is so screwed up. No consistantcy. Go look at the HPX or XUV sites/parts books and accessories list. Half the accessories for them are not listed anywhere. The trick to getting goodies is to find a part number. Once you do that, any counterman can help you. Without knowing the number first, you are sunk.

An accessory may fit 23 models (current and discontinued), but is only located in the parts books on maybe just one model from 8 years ago.

Six piece set: tailgate, bed, two seat covers, hood and one large piece that does both front fenders and under the grill. The fenders portion does not work with the deluxe cab unless you cut a notch in the material.

That is true with my XUV; I had to slit the fender cover where the ROPS goes into it. Cover is not cut out. I took my cover to a local seamstress and had it sewn to fit around the rops !!..................Roger

I do like how the camo skins look more realistic then the camo print they put on some atv's and utv's. I know the Polaris Ranger owners were not happy with the camo print on the Rangers a few years back because it turned purple

I wanted it because I can take it off when I am not in the woods and also can take it off to wash the machine. It is also a thicker mill than the stick on decal type and more abrasion resistant. It is expensive when bought through JD; I bought my kit off of ebay at a tremendous $$$$ savings over the dealer. ..............Roger

I use to use a nice camo cover for my atv when I went hunting. I loved it because it went on quick and easy and hid my atv perfectly plus kept it dry. I am not sure what I will do when I finally get my UTV because I want a bright color and a full cover for a UTV is not going to be as easy to put on as my atv one. These skins seem like a great idea. Are they solid material or a mesh type? If I put them on over a red UTV would they show the red still or cover it perfectly

They are a solid material; Whatever they cover will be hidden. My covers are heavy cordura material and have no bleed through on color..................Roger

The JD version is an opaque fabric with hemmed edges. It attaches with a combination of sewn in pockets, attached plastic clips, velcro and sewn in magnets. It will help the camo feature by being fabric and having uneveness in the surface (waves and wrinkles). It appears to be a water resistant fabric. I saw another UTV brand that had factory camo and it almost appeared glossy. Maybe the dealer had waxed it?? Glossiness kinda defeats the purpose of camo unless you buy the camo only to look cool and never take it in the woods.
