Just picked up a used Wallenstein BX40 chipper to use with my B3200. I tested it out before purchase and it works very well with freshly installed blades!

The previous owner has an 8N (nice old tractor) and cautioned me I would need an overrun clutch and threw an old one in with the purchase. This does not fit my tractor as I do not have a hole for the roll pin....

Reading around on here I suspect that I do not need one for my live PTO but thought the folks on here could coach this newbie.

Thanks

Craig

Don't know how your tractor is setup, but if you can engage and disengage the chipper smoothly, no over-run needed.

As long as your transmission is in neutral, which it will be when using a pto chipper, you do not need an orc, not even on an 8N. Philip.

You don't need it on your tractor.

Seems like a unanimous opinion that I am good to go!

Thanks all for the reassurance, time to start cleaning up the brush!
