Finished my new wood shed. Tore down the previous owner built one and put this up in it's place. I even went green and all materials are recycled except for four sheets of rough sawn cedar from the bargain yard.

The back two walls are Earth bag foundation walls. I filled about sixty 20 lb bags of dog food with dirt and then layered them like bricks with barb wire in between then chicken wire over and grouted. :)7

Pics hard to see but wondering what is to go in the shed? firewood?

If so, how will it dry ?? Just curious. :)

It's getting dark will have to take better pics when the sun is up. And yes call me crazy but I put wood in my wood shed.

The wood only goes in after it's dry to keep it dry. Once the rains start here it can rain an inch an hour for weeks on end.

Cool. I'd like to see more.
Could you make the photos bigger, too? Thanks.

Just curious, what sort of grout compound did you use?

Actually I can't. Sorry I forum off my iPhone that's as big as they get but I can take better lot ones.

Just home made. One part Portland two parts sand. :)7

If I am understanding correctly, what you did is called "parging" (rather than grouting) in my neck of the woods.

Also, were the dog food bags you used just the ordinary multi-layer paper bags?

Interesting ideas and nice shed!

The dog food bags are from walmart and no they're not the regular kind. They're a fiber reinforced plastic that's actually really tough. I got the idea from my sister and my mom doing research on the Internet. You can actually order them online as "earth bags" in whatever lengths you want instead of saving for six months like I did. That said it was not exactly the easiest project and I'm not sure I'd go to all the trouble again. :)7
