Price Check New User, 7510DT Pricing and Question

Hi everyone,

I'm a new user and I was recently looking at the Kubota tractors at my local dealer and found the tractor of my dreams, the B7510DT. I got a quote of $12,349 with a 54" MMM. Is this a good price? Also I looked at the Kazez.com thing ans it said I should be looking at a price of $11,730. Now, what would you TBNers say about my dealer's price quote? Also, would this be a good tractor for mowing my 5 acres of hilly, weedy grass, and eventually plowing the snow off of my 500' driveway in the winter with a plow bought later on?

It will take you a long time to mow 5 acres with a 54" deck. I pull a 60" Swisher trailmower behind my 48" deck so I'm cutting about 8 feet at a time and it still takes a long time. You didn't mention if you have a lot of trees. The 60" deck will stick out past your tire and make it a little easier to get close to things when you trim.

I was seriously considering a B7510HSD a few weeks ago. I ultimately decided that I wanted (probably didn't need) the extra HP of the B7610. I can't remember for sure, but my dealer quoted either $11,400 or $11,800 for the B7510HSD with a 60" MMM. So I think your price is a little high, at least for my area. I also think you would be better off with a 60" mowing deck. I mow 3 acres and am glad I have a 60" deck I am sure you wouldn't want less for 5 acres. I love my B7610 which is the same tractor with a little more HP. You will not be sorry buying a Kubota and I think you will find the B7510 to be a great tractor. Just curious Why a DT instead of a HSD? It seems like a HSD would make your mowing easier. One warning, the tractor turns easy and sharp and will tear up your yard if you turn to sharp going too fast. It gets better with practice. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

The DT model is a narrow width model made for crop rows basically. Consider the HST model, you will probably be happier. The price sounds a litle high also and go with a larger mower.

There are 3 models, 7510DT, 7510HST and 7510DTN. I think he is talking about the 7510DT, not the DTN.

First off, thanks for your replies.

Second, yes, I am talking about the DT model, the gear drive model, not the narrow model. I chose this model because I have been a gear drive trans fan. I may decide to go with the 60" MMM so I can get done faster. I currently have a 1978 12HP Cub Cadet with a 42" MMM so this is a big step up for me, I was just worried about scalping my yard to death since I have an old farm yard and it is very rough.

I am going to deal with my local dealer, he will flex some on his prices as my cousin got a JD from him and got him down about a grand from his original quote.

I will take this all into consideration and thanks again for all of your replies.

I looked at buying the 7510DT before I decided to purchase the L3400. The same dealer I had purchased my L3400 from gave me a quote of $8,100+ tax for a new 7510DT with turf tires. I live in North Carolina and have heard that we can get Kubotas cheaper. As far as the mmm, I didn't price one of those. Is your price including a FEL too? I have 6 acres with about 2 or so in grass. Hardly any trees with the exception of a few mulberry,oak and nut trees. I can generally mow my yard in a little over an hour. I use a 5ft. finish mower and love the way the tractor cuts the lawn. I decided to go with the bigger tractor because I have hard,rocky soil and knew it would not pose any problems with the weight. Good luck on your tractor purchase. Gunman

I was originally looking at the 7510DT when I was first looking because of the price difference, not because of the gear trans. I went with the B7610HST because the 7510 doesn't have a live PTO which if you have to go forward or backwards a lot you have to step on the clutch thus shutting the PTO down even for a minute. I was not sure that I would like the Hydro but after my first cutting and loader work I quickly found out that I DO LIKE IT!!

And I also think that price sounds a little high.

I know you mentioned you're a fan of the gear drive transmission but you'll save a lot of time, hours and hours per year by using an HST to mow... No shifting, two pedals: One forward, one reverse.

I purchased a B7510 HST, FEL, 60"MMM and 48"BB for $14,200. So far I have mowed my 2 acres 4 times. Moved some rock piles. Removed some silt out off a water run, spread about 20 yards of mulch and filled in an old hog pen. It has done most I ask of it with relative ease. My dealer was good but not great. I am working on buying or building a tooth bar and adding hooks to my bucket. I really hate the thought of welding on a new machine. Good luck with your choice. This forum is great for input.
