Buy a new tractor now or not?
Why not? You have a job to do? You need a tractor? Or do you want a tractor?Buy a new tractor now or not?
I think the bigger issue in their case is that they hired and catered to people because of their feelings and demographics rather than their financial acumen. Anyone with a tiny understanding of Finance would have seen that coming. The only solution to inflation is to shrink the money supply. The Fed is doing the right thing, they just started too late and now have to make steep changes.Interesting what begins to happen when they take away the endless supply of low, low interest rates.
yes, they willThey won’t get any cheaper
yes, they will
inflation is transitory
He has made our family insane amounts of money just by buying and holding BRK shares over the years. My BRK A has made far more than I could have on my ownWhat a lot of people don't realize about the money managers on Wall Street is their compensation is not strictly tied to the performance and growth of a stock. They are paid fees for managing other peoples capital regardless of whether the stocks perform well or not. And if you sit down and do the numbers it's not hard to understand how they get rich doing it. If you have a billion dollars under management and you get 3%- 6% fee for managing it you're set for the rest of your life. This is the part of the story the media always conveniently leaves out when they dote on people like Warren Buffet. You will never make the money he has made in 10 lifetimes just buying and holding "good stocks" as he has so famously preached all these years.
The Fed kept the Federal Funds Rate near zero for over a decade after the 2008 financial collapse and massive bank bailouts. The Fed must have known this would cause severe havoc in our economy, it's their job. Now the Fed is escalating the increase in the Federal Funds Rate that is again causing severe havoc in our economy and probably one of the reasons for the recent bank failures, which will probably continue. Inflation was caused by the printing of trillions of dollars out of thin air in just the past two years.I think the bigger issue in their case is that they hired and catered to people because of their feelings and demographics rather than their financial acumen. Anyone with a tiny understanding of Finance would have seen that coming. The only solution to inflation is to shrink the money supply. Haha...I use BRK as an example for my students. Individual shares are very expensive for an entry level investor. Mainly because Buffet doesn't believe in splitting stock. One of the few things I admire about him.He has made our family insane amounts of money just by buying and holding BRK shares over the years. My BRK A has made far more than I could have on my own
