I would rather pay a bit more for good service but I like to haggle a bit also. It goes both ways, it is nice to see that they will come down on price a bit to show you they want your business.

After looking at these prices, I don't think I got any kind of deal at all. I paid $14,200 for the 2305, 200CX with 48" bucket, 2048 Box Blade and a Disc harrow. Traded in an LT180 which reduced the cost to $11,200 that was taxed and financed. I probably didn't get a good deal because I wanted $3000.00 for my LT180.

I was just quoted a 2305 w/200CX, 62"MMM, mechanical lift and ballast box for $13000 without tax. Looks like a good deal, so i am going to go for it!!!

That does look like a very good deal. By "mechanical lift" do you mean the independent MMM lift?

That does look like a very good deal. By "mechanical lift" do you mean the independent MMM lift?

My understanding is that the mechanical lift uses the 3-point hitch lifting mechanism and the independent lift is hydraulic. Ther is another thread related to this subject. It seems most like or would like the mechanical lift over the independent.

Strange - the dealers I've spoken to have all recommended it (and they have to order the tractor so it's not like they are trying to move what they have on the lot). It's not like it's a high-buck item either, just a couple hundred bucks. Hmmm...

I would think it would be bothersome to have the 3-pt moving up and down it you are mowing with the ballast box on or if you get a rear bagger system of some sort (JD, Trac Vac).

I'll believe I'll be ordering a 2305 soon, now I'll have to think about this...

As for the ballast box point, my dealer conceded that you probably do not want to have the ballast box on when mowing otherwise you may bottom out especially when climbing a steeper incline. Nevertheless, I pulled the trigger tonight and expect the machine soon, equipped with the mechanical lift.
