I have my first ranch and three tractors; a John Deere 4030, a Kubota M4900 and Yanmar 2210. I call them Papa, Momma and baby tractor. i still have a lot to learn about using them. My husband is a computer geek and no help at all so I am hoping to get some good advice and help in here on the TractorBy Net forums

Welcome.

I had a great friend from Arcadia who took us to Ada where he loved to eat at an establishment called Bob's Bar B Que. Really enjoyed the food.

Thank you for the warm welcome.
Ada did have a famous BBQ restaurant named Bob's. it was so popular that a shuttle ran from the airport to the restaurant. Sadly it is closed now.
I love the pallet forks that go on the FEL. Wonderfully handy for a lot of things.

Welcome to TBN, you came to the right place.

My wife drives our, actually "her" BX2660 as well as our L5030 HSTC. She has trouble with back pain if she uses a clutch, so has stayed off our geared tractors. We now have an M8540 with hydraulic shuttle shift and I am going to teach her how to drive it this summer.

Someone with a better memory than me can tell the story of the running battle Bob's Bar-b-que had with the State Health Department.:licking:

The tractors are all mine. My husband has not driven any of them. i have just driven the Kubota M4900 and the little Yanmar. I am still learning about gears, clutches and shifting. I hope I learn it faster than I learned how to back a trailer. I am still not good at that one.

If someone has not already told you, the easiest way to learn to back a trailer is to put you hand on the bottom of the steering wheel. Then if you want the trailer to go to the left, move your hand (turn the steering wheel) to the left. If you want the trailer to turn to the right, move your hand to the right. Best to start with the vehicle and trailer lined up straight, go slow, and don't oversteer.

I'd like to hear that story; I used to work for the State Health Department; later the DEQ. Seems like there was a cement company in Ada whose name came up at the DEQ occasionally.

It was back in the '80's that Bob's in Ada did battle with the inspectors regarding the contents of his sauce. They shut him down for a period of time as I recall. A friend of mine that worked in the lab at the State Health Department told me to never eat his sauce - something about a perfect place for bacteria to grow and then it got disgusting.

The Owner of Bob's Bar-B-Que in Pauls Valley (no connection between the two places) and I had a conversation about it a few months back.

There is also an old family run Bar-B-Que in Chickasha that is good. Only problem I've had there is their portions are too large.

:welcome: to TBN! You have a nice fleet of tractors! I used to own a small Yanmar as well, it was the best first tractor I could have ever asked for.

I've eaten at Bob's in Pauls Valley and Jake's Rib in Chickasha. You're right; the portions are really big! No one can eat that many French Fries. I think Bob's in Pauls Valley is about as good as it gets; except maybe the ribs I cook on my Big Green Egg.
