Looks like the tire was scrapping against something, my sidewalls don't look as bad as that one does with 300 hours..

Thank you for all of your info. Yes, it was a big nail and no it was not rubbing on anything. I think what looks like rub is Georgia clay.

A set of Harbor Freight tire irons and some boot plugs can save you some downtime. I also have the manual tire change stand, which was $35 well spent. Taking a tire into town would be a minimum of two hours for me so it has really saved me some time.
