Picked this little gem up for $500. Ran when they parked it but had been sitting for around ten years. Now I just need to find the time to get it going.

Thanks I'm really happy with it. Hopefully get to work on it next spring. I had Easter weekend off and then we started hauling stockpiles and we've been working steady since. I still need to finish my shed from last year.

I think I would toss the truck and save the boom and you got a steal!

Looks like it could be a handy piece of machinery. Do you have a specific use for it?

Not a specific use, it's more what can't I do with it. I'm always fooling around building or fixing various things. A little picker can come in very handy.

A little update on the picker truck. I’ve been tinkering on it as I have time. I’ve taken a few pictures but as usual I get working and forget.
My list of repairs so far.
New fuel pump
Added a pressure regulator and gauge
Redid fuel tank straps
Fixed U bolts that mount picker
Got all lights working
Redid front brakes and repack bearings
Fix two speed axle shifter
Repair rotted brake line
Removed all the vacuum trailer brake components
There is still a long list to do but I’m having fun and this will be an awesome truck to have on the road.

Back brakes are done, lines new up to the halfway point on the frame, oil in the diff looked like old used engine oil so that got changed as well. Carb got a rebuild, new rotor and cap and new exhaust routed up behind the cab.

Truck is registered and insured. All the major work is done. Just a ton of little things to do as I get to them, but it is drivable and usable now.

Haha. My brothers daughter out grew it so he gave it to me. Fixed a tire and it will fit my daughter next year.

Hope you post a video of it in operation!!!

I’d like to but I don’t have any of those photo sharing sites or whatever it is to make them work on here.

Nice save!

Where did you find the grapple and rotary actuator? I'd like something like that on the backhoe, to pull out logs wedged under my bridge and clearing clogged culvert inlets.

I found the grapple on kijiji. A guy from Ontario brought in a bunch from over seas and was selling them. Cost me $2000cnd for the grapple and rotator delivered right to my brothers shop. It is a farma grapple by the way, so far very impressed with it.
