My father in-law had a tool box made for me as a Christmas present and I just mounted it. (Nice Guy huh) He's had them made for 3 red tractors that are in the family (his, his wifes, and bro in-law). I'm the only one that went blue. It's going to work out well. I can still see over it to hook up attachements. Thought I'd need to get a back up camera but so far so good. Do have to strech a bit to look over the back but I'm very happy with it. Now I have a place to put the BFH :D

Greg, I think you are gonna love that toolbox for all the neat stuff you can carry in it. That's the good news....

Now the bad news. If you are like me, once you get over having all that space for tools, you are gonna hate the limited view over the box. I installed this box about 3 years ago and I'm gonna take it off soon. I just can't pull my boxblade, plow, or run my tiller and easily see over this "monster."

I installed mine so I cold open it from the front while I'm sitting in the seat. I actually use it more this way than from the rear. Either way would be okay if I could just see over it.:(

Jim, I played with hooking up the box blade and the disk yesterday and I had to stretch my neck just a bit more but could easily see the arms to hook it up. We'll see as time goes on. About it facing backwards, I thought about that AFTER I got it mounted DOHHHHH. Another Homer moment... If it turns out to be a pain I'll flip it aound, of course I'll have to redrill holes......DOHHHHH

Hey, I noticed the grab bars that go over the fenders on your post. Are they a NH item? never seen those before and now that I see where there mounted on the Roll Bar I figured out what that tab is for. If you have a PN for them I'd appreciate it.

Here is a link to Messicks.com where they have a parts diagram. The bars are the old style handles. Love 'em....

The link may not get you all the way to the part. Click on Sheet Metal and then Fenders.

Greg, Nice! I bet that box wasn't cheap.

Jim, I didn't want to hijack the this thread, but I've been trying for years to figure out a way to have my lopers always with me. I saw yours in your pic but mine always gets lost when it's on the tractor. HFT has a drill holster and it holds my 2" fiskars lopers perfectly. I strap it on like a gunslinger and when I hop off the tractor it's always there. It'll even strap in if you want.

Greg - I have the same fender bars on my 2001 TC45 with almost the same turn signal tabs .......mine aren't even close to being as straight as Jim's. I stopped trying to straighten 'em after about the third time. Lights came off right after the first time and haven't ever been back on. I thought at first about mounting a work light there ....but then went "no stupid, you just took lights off there for a reason....duh" ...... NICE BOX! ....man I sure hope that works for you....be a shame if it didn't.

Jim, thanks for the link, I'll check it out. Maybe if I get them I'll stop getting grease on my hands from grabing the top of the Fel when stepping on.

kossetx: The pa-inlaw said the box is around 200. Ya, it's a bit pricey but it sure is perty :D

mikim: I popped the left side lights off a couple of weekends ago when driving through the trees. Did break one of the front black lenses so I'll have to order a new one. I hate when I to that.....

I hate when I to that..
we all do .:eek:...now do yourself a favor and leave 'em off unless /until you need them....mine have been gathering dust on the shelf for about 6 years now. Ain't it nice that they provide a quick connector for 'em?

mikim, Yes, I think I'll do that as I have a lot of trees to get out and I'm sure that won't be the last time I "hook" one

Mark, you can tell by the scars on my loper handles that they have slipped out of the bungee a few times and ended up under my seat. My wife has a shorter set she carries on the Kawasaki Mule and they would be better suited for the tractor. I could and should build a bracket on the back side of the seat to hold the lopers. Bungees become old in the sun and lose elasticity really quickly. Your holster sounds like a good solution, but I could never remember to put it on. I do love having the lopers on the tractor so I can eliminate limbs that swat me in the face. I don't want to scratch my "beautiful" face, don't you know?:p :D
