Welcome to TBN from Missouri. Our farms have plenty of hills and more than a dry creek or two and Mark has given you some excellent advice as have others. I spend quite a bit of time filling in gullies, making crossings safer and going up and down hills. There are some good safety threads by nebraskasparks and others on operating on slopes, roll over prevention and such.
I have been operating tractors for a lot of years, but still take quite some time learning the parameters of any tractor new to me. I can go places on our M8540, I won't even try with the L5030 and we have a Massey Ferguson 375 that will go places none of our other tractors will touch.
I don't think I will ever get comfortable operating on steep terrain etc., but maybe that's not a real bad thing.
Have fun and stay safe.
