Great site and information! The power of the internet is awesome. I have quite a few older type tractors and boy do I like the vintage iron. However I am curious about the John Deere X749. Limitations and advantages of the machine. I am wanting to put a FEL on it and have been advised not to. Not looking to run any races with a full bucket, I would like to use it for extracting logs and split wood out of the woods, spread mulch and load the garden up with compost. Thought about attaching some pallet forks to it to move engines and tranies around the shop. Quarters are tight at times in the shop and woods. Any thoughts, ideas and concerns would be apprecitated. I often wondered how the maint schedule is on those AWS and the 4x4s. Are they as reliable as the 2ws? Lots of query I know. I like these machines from the old Case steam tractors to the new. Looking forward to meeting new people with the same likes. Thanks Roamer
