Having grown up on farms in Michigan I now have the privileged of being able to go back to "farm living".

Buying a small plot of land here in Texas so I can get my hands dirty again.

Looking for farm tools and current info.

I am in the process of buying a 2 acre plot with a small house on it. The plot has a lot of small trees & brush. At first I was looking at a single machine that could do everything but now I am leaning toward a small tractor and a Bigger macine with a front loader & backhoe attached if I can find a good one. So far I have found working Ford 8N with a shredder for $1900(asking) and a working(needs minor repair) Case 580B for $5500(asking) with a front loader & backhoe. HOWEVER from what I have been gleaning today, seems like the 508B are not the preferred model. I also found a 508B for $3000 that is suppose to need some trans work that has been estimated at $1800. So many variables. I just wonder what else will be found that needs to be repaired when they get in to do the transmission.
