New (to me) tractor.

This past weekend I ended up buying another tractor, a John Deere H. Nice little unit, even has a PTO and an electric starter! Like the rest of my tractors I'll keep it on my friend's acreage. Coincidently he has always wanted an H.

Congrats on the "new" tractor! Would love to see some pics of it.

And I'd LOVE to see a video of it and hear it run (if it's in running condition). There are probably some folks on here that have never heard a 2 cylinder Deere run.

It's in running condition alright. The seller delivered it and drove it off his trailer and around the yard a couple of times before parking it in front of the shop. Wouldn't you know it, the next time we tried to start it it wouldn't run.

Murphy had made his presence known!

We ended up removing the carb to clean it and discovered someone had cobbled together a main jet (literally!). It was amazing it had ran with it. My buddy went looking through his stash of M/S carb parts and found a broken jet out of a carb off an old D. He turned it down in his lathe and popped it in and bolted it back together, installed it and it fired right up and ran like a top! It will be awhile before it looks like a Parade Queen but until then we'll slowly putz away at it when time and priorities allow.

Nope. I don't own a camera.

It's crusty and dirty and looks like what you would expect of an old tractor stored in a barn for years complete with bird crap on it.

Just fix it up and make it look good and maybe use it a bit around the yard.

I don't need this one either but it came along and my buddy likes them and always wanted one of his own so...
