My FIL received an urgent call from his "grandson" several years back. He wasn't savvy enough to request a correct grandson name from the caller, and he was starting to buy into it.
He finally sensed BS when the caller said his bail needed to be paid using iTunes gift cards. I'd say that scammer needed to think through his routine a little better.
