New to me MT372 charging issue

hi all
got all my wiring sorted out and fired her up
battery is reading 15+ volts when running sometimes up to 16
if I flip on the lights it drops some
also the alternator seems to put quite a load on the engine almost like an a/c compressor kicking on and off

any thoughts what's going on?

does your tractor have an alternator or a generator? did you hook a meter up to your alternator / generator to see what it is producing? I would start with cleaning all grounds. A bad ground can cause issues with charging. Good luck!

A lot of your tractor looks like the same parts as my Iseki, but a different colour. My Iseki has a three cylinder Mitsubishi engine. Just saying....
