I picked up a second hand LS R3039 yesterday with 150 hours. I want to do a service as although I have records of the 50 hour service, I'm less than certain it really happened. Unfortunately, there was no owner's manual with the tractor, so I'd like some help. Has anyone compiled a list of the items that should be done for a full service (for example, what weight oil, capacities, etc.), where to get them, and can anyone tell me where I might find a owner's manual for this tractor. Also, could anyone chime in on look fors? I did see the frame cracking issue and luckly, I am free of those. I'd suspect it is probably already on this site, but a search did not turn up any info. It is a shuttle shift if that makes a difference.
Thank you in advance.

Also, thank you to whomever put up the info on filters. That helped, but did not give me capacities of oil and hydraulic fluid for the R3039.

Just sent you a PM, twoforty. Get back to me and we can help you with a owner's manual.

That frame cracking was the only issue we ever had with this model...they're rock solid otherwise, and that's an easy issue to correct.

Make sure you fan isn't hitting the lower part of the fan surround. What year is it? If it is like a 2011 or 2012 and doesn't have the reinforcing kit on it you might want to consider getting it to head off any future problems.

My apologies! This tractor is a 2013 LS R3039 Shuttle Shift. Like I said, I am fortunate in that there is no cracking at the bolt holes between the loader and frame. However, I did notice that when I changed my oil (used a NAPA 7040 oil filter, which was called for by NAPA for this tractor,) these bolt were a bit loose (meaning that when I attempted to turn them, they were loose enough that the bolts and nut would turn when attempting to tighten.) Can anyone tell me what the torque specs on these bolts are and is it possible to get the "quick fix" done prior to dealing with this issue? The fan is not hitting the radiator surround. Thank you for your responses!

The M12 bolts on the loader mount that go through the frame into the engine block are (according to loader manual) 55ft. lbs. if they are 8.8 grade and 76 ft. lbs. if 10.9 grade. Apparently the latest data from LS is 10.9 grade with the reinforcing kit and they use 80 ft. lbs. (75-85 being the range).

Where would I get a reinforcing kit and is this a recall item? Is it something that a dealer would address?

Yes, a dealer can fix you up. I don't know when they (LS) began selling tractors with the new loader mount already on. It kind of sounds like you may already have it since you said something about a nut turning ... the new loader mount is longer and has 3 bolts holding it to the frame (one has a nut) instead of two (which went into block only). If you look in the LS Frame Issue Video thread http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/ls-tractor-owning-operating/298742-ls-frame-issue-video.html you'll see pictures.

hutchman, Video is no longer working. I can say that the loader attaches to the frame with three bolts, one of which uses a nut to secure the bolt. However, there does not seem to be the additional piece of steel (spacer) welded to the frame mount. The bolt passes through the extension of the mount that would seem to be factory, but it is fairly thin. I'll have to get pictures. The ones in the pictures that appear to have this welded on spacer seem much thicker.

The video has been down for a long time. I never saw it either ... the thread has pictures of the different styles. Older tractors got a reinforcing kit which is a bolt on plate that is also welded, newer tractors got a new once piece loader mount (and frame) from the factory.

I presume that as the tractor I have already has the modified loader mount, there is nothing further I can do as a preventative measure. Would this be accurate?
