Kinda like comparing to ? LOL

had R-1s and roughly 50 horse.
has R-4s and roughly 59 horse.

was an Agricultural Tractor.
is a construction T.L.B.

I prefer the . Everything seems better engineered. Higher quality. Everything seems to operate or be....for lack of a better term.... smoother.

As more hard work is done and the hours increase we will see about durability. If like the last two I owned, it will hold up better and have less issues.

So on the right hand side of my tractor (if sitting on seat), I have noticed a small plate with two holes in it that are threaded. Anyone know what that is for on their M59? Looks like a decent spot to mount a toolbox hanger.View attachment 565297

Yup it is

My M59 doesn't have that small plate, but it has the larger one right above it. No holes in it, though. That entire upright for the loader is a box beam out of some pretty thick material. I wouldn't be afraid to drill and tap either of the outer plates as needed. Just don't hit a hose inside if you drill through it.

Here's an ammo box I attached to that point. I had to make an aluminum approx 2"x6"x1/2" bracket to offset the box enough to clear the loader pin bushing up top. I used two countersink socket head screws (I think M10) to attach the aluminum bracket to the mount point and threaded a couple of holes in the bracket to mount the box.

That is nice mikester. Is that box waterproof?

Supposed to be! It has a rubber seal around the top lid...I think it was a 50 caliber ammo box and is a decent size. I use it to store spare pins, some wrenches and straps. Nothing rusting inside yet...

Burning up the last of the stumps. Lucky here. We have had enough rain to get it done.

Lot to be said for the Orange TLB's. After 13 years, +2,000 hours on my L39, still seems as good, better than ever, maybe not as shiny as new, but works well above it's size.
You must really appreciate that your M59 seems dependable and eager to work.
I have some grapple work to do with mine, I'll post some pics next week.
