Nice tractor. Welcome....and post your location and info so we can know more about you.

Now on that value......hmmmm.......prolly somewhere between $2000 and $20,000........am I right? ;) (OK.....I'll play your silly game: $8500. ??)

I have a 2001 too. Same loader and everything. Nice part of these older ones is that they have slightly larger engines and horsepower....compared to those built a few years later. Enjoy your tractor.

Beautiful!! Congrats :)

Ok JD guys, quote me if I am wrong here, but the 790/990 seem to be another of rarest to find on lots, because they were a h e l l u v a of a machine??

.... because they were a h e l l u v a of a machine
:confused::confused::confused:

I would say they are one h e l l u v a of a machine in the presnet tense and not in the past tense :) :):D:D:D

I only said were because I was Not sure if they are still being produced. Are they??

I'm farily sure you know as well as I do - the 790 is no longer in production. However the 790 is still a respectable and capable machine. Just because the machine is no longer in production does not mean it is a "has been".

In fact I believe the 790 is grandfather- to many CUT's out there today.

Flame suit on :D :D :) :)

I heard it was rebaged, 2000 or 3000 series??

OK...your both right. In 2008 (I think?) the 790 became the 3005.....and its still pretty much the same tractor that was made in the past 10 or so years.....a bullet-proof design. ;)

Thanks for the replies folks. I live in a small DownEast town in Maine called Robbinston. I'm on the edge of the earth near Eastport which is the most eastern part of the U.S.

Oh and I stole my 790 at $4,750. I love it. Thanks a bunch for the info and welcome.

Welcome to TBN!

Congrats!..And stolen for $4,750:eek: your good.

New 790s are now the 3005. The 990, the bigger 40 hp brother, got a new number same time too, it is the 4005.

Happy with my 790. It was the last "790" the dealer had before the 3005 sticker invasion.

In fear of opening can a of worms with this topic... the only thing i felt the 790 lacking was loader lift capacity, It would not lift a full bucket of dirt. Told the dealer they said no prob and shimmed the hyd. relief and cured the lift issue. Please use the "search" at top of page on this topic if curious... Many keyboard been worn out on this.... Hydraulic "how to" stuff like power beyond, adding remotes, top and tilt and shims and pressure seem to spark heated discussions.... Any how, Welcome to TBN:D

Although I've since traded my 790, I did shim the hydraulics and I believe that I still have a PDF on my computer if anyone needs one to reference.

That is a great deal. If I were closer I would have got it. Oh well, atleast I got a great deal on my Yanmar. It is a $5000 tractor that I got for $2800. It is so useful. Oh and welcome to TBN!
