new to me cub cadet 1320

I just purchased a cub cadet 1320 from my soon to be stepfather. I paid 400 dollars for it. He says its in good working condition no major problems. I got a owners manual online that i will be printing soon. I would like to know if these are good models. I believe it is 1991 or so. I dont mind tinkering on these but i hope there are no major repairs in my future. I dont know the size of the mower deck but i have about a 2 acre flat lawn to mow. My question is was this a good deal because i seen a couple older craftsman and murrays that said they worked for 300 but i figured cub cadet would be the right choice. thank you for any information and/or replies you can give me

smwelch, i looked on tractorhouse and it says the 1320 has a 13 hp engine. It also says that it has a 38 inch cutting deck.i think that you might have done better with a wider cuttung deck if you mow 2 acres......i am a huge cub fan, my dad had a dealership when i was a kid in the 60s and 70s. I am not much of a fan of the cubs built in the 90s and newer........the older ones r the best models, its only my opinion. Hey 400 sounds like a good deal to me...don't be discouraged if you have to replace a few things every now and then. That's just the way it is...that a decent tractor and will cut your 2 acres no problem.

My Wife surprised me with a 1320 Hydro with a Bagger and Snowblower....695 hours on the clock, got it for $150.....here's the kicker....1 year later, needs a Deck Spindle

Hey Beer Belly, mines better. Bought my 2155 for $100.00. Needed front tires. $50.00. Bought a year ago. Three weeks ago i got it stuck in the mud and filled the transmission full of water when i was washing the muck off. $41.00. PTO not engaging, $8.00 (bad relay). For $200.00 bucks invested, best dang mower ever owned. Paid ten times that on my last craftsman. I will not ever use anything else again.

Any other cheap bought stories?

My soon to be Father in law just gave us his 1320 Cub Cadet for the whopping price of free! I am gonna love this man..........I know it. At worst it is in great shape. New tires, belts, and other minor items fixed and using it today!
