A little more context. I'm paying him by the acre to make the round bales and leave them in the field. We get about 6 ton/acre/year here (3 cuttings). Sounds like guys and here charge about $25/acre to mow, condition and round bale. So I agree, that I'm not paying for him to break equipment. I'm just trying to figure out where to go from here.
I’d hire some HS or younger people to throw them in a wagon while you drive it.
I have done many acres by myself.
I have a field with larger boulder tops I have them marked with the 6’ tall snowplow guides so I can see them when I cut (cant remember them all). There’s probably 35-40 of them.
Some day I will rent a midi excavator and dig them out.

Have a "Rock Party" . You said that you had teenagers, so have a party to pick rocks and pay them a few bucks an hour and a bond fire party to repay them. Divide them up into teams and give a grand prize to the winning team. Ask your kids what to give as prizes. Invite the parents and make it an "old fashion" party.
