From the other pictures in the Farmers Journal site, it seems that front fenders are a common thing in Europe. I can't recall ever seeing any modern tractor in the U.S. with fenders. Just yesterday after my post, I went out and worked some in a muddy area and when I was returning to my house on the county road, I was slinging mud all over the place from my front tires. R4s are much worse than the rib-ags my old 2wd tractor had.

Front fenders are quite common in the US as well. Its just that you hardly ever look for them when you see a tractor and they do blend in quite well. There are still a lot of older tractors without the fenders as well as newer tractors without as some people don't want to/ or don't need to mess with front fenders.
