What exactly is the 2 inch lift kit sold by allterrainonline.com ? They show a Gator XUV, but they don't show how the lift works. Is it a spacer for the strut? How difficult to install?

The lift for the xuv is 2 one inch spacers. You install them in the front strut mount.
Very simple installation~!

stick with a maximum of 26"tall tire and keep the front end stock.i wouldn't lift it . if you lift it i would go with a longer axle too and for 2"it's not worth the trouble keep it stock the front end on the hpx and xuv is plenty high enough.the rear is good enough on the hpx i'll get some videos out as soon as i can but i am sure the xuv is even better at it if i can go through what i can with my hpx then i can't imagine what i could do with a xuv wth my 589's on it.

The reason I would add the 2 inch lift is to get a bit more plow height in the raised position. Otherwise change to the heavy duty strut, but that is a lot more expensive, and I like the XUV ride with std. struts.

I put the heavy duty struts on the front of my xuv because of the glass cab and snow plow. The heavy duty ones are about 1 and 1/2 to 2 inches longer so you wouldnt need a lift kit. I didnt notice any difference in the ride because the glass doors are fairly heavy.
The xuv rides more level than before, it used to be a little down hill in the front. The new struts makes it more stable in the corners.

well you really don't need to waist your money then . i put my hpx front end up about 1/2 "without a lift kit and it held up just find without the kit the bolts hold the struts inplace just fine. but if you want you can make the kit by measuring the inside of the strut houseing and goin to the hardware store like i did and buying a nipple 2"long and put a flat washer on the top and bottom it cost me 5 dollarsto make my kit . i took it out but thats how much it cost to make it rather than buy it for 30.00.i think the o.d of the nipple was somthing like 1-3/4 or close to it.infact i have the pieces in my shed and i'll go find them today and get you a measurement so you can get them .

Thats the same thing my brother did with his diesel hpx. He is very pleased.

The lift kit for the RTV is a 2" spacer for the front strut and a 2" lift on the rear shakle. I was looking at the machine pretty close last night and don't think I will need it for the 1100. I will let you know once the rims and tires come in.

Anybody know where I can get a chrome looking centercap, for some reason they don't come with the kit.

i would go with the heavy duty struts instead of a lift kit.if your gonna be hanging a blade off the front your gonna need some extra support up there. and that blade will only where down the stock struts faster and you'll be buying them heavy duty one anyway .
