New tiller came in today. This is a serious piece of equipment!
I ordered it from McGee equipment aka equipmentbarn.com near Jackson,Ms.
It had a twisted skid because the cheap pallet that it was shipped on fell apart. It had a metal stand type thing under it that looked like it should have been made into a crate but wasn't.Not a huge deal but I don't enjoy repairing something that's new before I use it.
It has full oil in ithe gear box and oil in gear drive but I'm not sure how to tell if the two gear side are full??Do these usually ship full of oil??
I've got it all assembled, pto shaft with slip clutch, skids bolted on back side and ?top link bracket? Bolted on and will use it tomorrow one way or another. But if anyone knows if this should be full of oil when shipped,or how to check the level on the sides it would be nice to know.

You're gonna like that thing. I've been using mine down in Houma and I really like it.

You should have an owner's manuel in the black tube mounted on the tiller. It's a little hard to understand the manual, because it was written by Koreans. I don't remember if it tells you about the oil levels.

I picked mine up from my local dealer in Abbeville, so I assumed that all levels were correct. I did re-check oil levels, but I don't remember if I was able to check the sides.

Sorry, I guess I'm not much help.

Be sure to flip up the little stand when you go to use it. I left mine down and bent it pretty good.

Well I poured a little oil in the side that I can't check and started tilling. This thing is awesome. On old compacted pasture with heavy grass the tiller easily tilled down 4-6" in one pass.If I tried to go to fast it would start to move the tractor slightly but not much. The gate on the back is very nice to either leave small clumps or pack the ground.I am very much a newbie to tractors but I know soft fluffy ground when I see it.

I'm sure you'll like the tiller. I have a YJR 80 that I bought from Everything Attachments that I use on a Kubota M7040. I had exactly the same issue with one of the skids as the metal frame these tillers are shipped on does not protect the entire tiller. I checked the oil levels on the end gears and bearing with a simple plastic zip tie as a dipstick. An improvement the manufacturer could make would be building in a sight glass (this could also be building in a weak spot) which would help in keeping the lube level maintained. I've got about 15 acres of food plots on the tiller (plus 2 miles of fire breaks) and have nothing but good to say of the tiller. I'll be doing a modification to allow dragging a cultipacker behind the tiller when doing the plots. I used the tiller on 2 acres of new plots scrapped out of timber. The tiller chewed through roots, bounced off some major rocks and ripped up small stumps without any issues.

I don't think the ER has as good of a gear box. Probably wouldn't matter for my usage but for an extra $200 I figured it was worth it. You never know what the future may bring. Resale value was also a small consideration.
