PineRidge, excellent web page you have there. I'm thinking of using your divertor set up. Anything you'd change now that you've got some time on it?

BlueToy; As per Pineridge requested, I've got a DA model. They did make somewhat of an improvement, in that the newer batteries have a cap on them similar to a motorcycle battery. I've jostled my machine around quite a bit, and have noticed no problems with leakage. One thing I did though, was extend the overflow tube further down below the frame. The Tygon tubing they put on seemed a little too short for me. I'll attach a photo for you guys. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Brian the only thing different that I would recommend is that you put the same amount of slack in the hydraulic lines that connect between the electric diverter and the grapple that the stock hydraulic New Holland loader lines have. It will make installing and removing the FEL a lot easier with a wee bit more slack. I was lucky and was able to reposition the hydraulic lines to give me a that needed slack.

I am very happy with the diverter and the ability of the grapple. It was a fun project and turned out to be a very valuable addition to the FEL. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

After seeing the picture I like the change that NH applied to the battery. I'm confident that modification should eliminate the earlier problems that we experienced with acid spills.

dknarnd, So far my TC40 has handled the 6' bush hog great. I've been cutting on old pasture that hasn't been cut in quite a few years. Also trying to clean up all kinds of brush around our pond and dam. Haven't had any problem at all because of the cutter. Ran into a few brush piles left hidden in the weeds, makes a lot of racket but keeps on cutting.

If you are using your rig close to water and have any signs of Muskrats be extremely vigilant. They can be a real hazard if one of your wheels caves in a den and throws you and the running tractor in the pond.

We usually use the push mower for mowing close around the pond and to keep the TC-40D from landing in the water. Just the weight of my feet pushing the mower has broken through 2 dens at the waters edge so far.

Thanks for the warning. I have seen muskrats and beavers in it 10-15 years ago, so there may be a few dens around the edges. It is completely silted in now. The creek and spring that feed it run in & right down the colvert. I'm clearing an area around it of brush and trees. Then I'll start chipping away at digging it out. Planning on building our house above it in a few years.
