New T1110 Owner

Just got my 1st tractor. NH T1110 w/FEL & woods 60" tiller. So far it has been great. I have moved a bunch of dirt, tilled up the field for our strawberries and food plots, pulled a couple stumps and moved some wood to the wood stove. I am going to be getting a rear blower for it soon. Not sure about a belly mower cause of the price. I have a JD 200 that should do the job fine and I don't have much money into it. Enough blabbing.

Alright guys. What do I need to know.

other than it's a great little tractor? Not much! mine served me well, the tz25 version.

! I would not waste money on a mid-mount mower. IMHO it gives you less ground clearance. A rear mounted finish and/or rotary cutter is easier to attach and detach and gives you greater control of cutting height. Use you new tractor safely and well and get it dirty. Jay

I'd not call a belly mower " A waste of money". It depends on the intended job. I mow several acres of rolling hills with wet swale at the bottom, so yeah, clearance was an issue. BUT, the 60CMS performed wonderfully for the fields AND for very close to the house, gardens, trees, anything that you had to go around.

Now I have traded the TZ and moved up to the T2220 with a 72" rear mount finish. It should (Still waiting for it to come from the factory) be more proficient in the large straights, but now I have to rebuild the deck on my Class of '70 JD140 to mow around the house and greenery. It'd be a pain moving around a 5' circle of lilies with the rear mount, am I right?

I should not have called a MM mower a "waste of money". That was a poor choice of wording. For level, even ground, and manuverability around larger objects a MMM is the way to go especially if one does not have to attach/detach it often. You are right about the challenges of mowing around objects with a rearmount mower/cutter as one must adjust for the "swing" during turns and do a lot of cutting in reverse. For my sloped, wet, uneven terrain with numerous surface "anomolies" a MMM was out of the question for me. After ~30 years of using a rearmount I am getting relatively good at cutting around things. Having said all this I will probably "take out" some plants this week. Jay

PS: I still use my rider around the house cutting the "lawn". I am sorry for my wording.

I have the T1110 as well and I chose the 60 in rear mount mower because I change implements often and work in the woods behind the house. I tought that the MMM would be too cumbersome to be changing and would limit clearance if I left it on. I am happy with the choice. I also found the rear mount to be quite agile and was great for backing under the trees. Very few grass clippings as well. I have a 50 inch tiller, 4ft bush cutter, 60" rear blade and a 54 inch blower as well.
