With a symmetrical 4-bar linkage, the same lifting movement moves the load the same distance, whether the load is close to the linkage or far from it.

However, the linkage is attached to a tractor and becomes a lever that pivots around the rear axle and wheel. A heavy load can be lifted close to the hitch and not farther back since it will then lift the front wheels.

Yes the tractor feels the load distance behind the axle. The hydraulics not so much due to the non symmetrical 4 bar link.

Larry, I consider you an intelligent person. I've read your posts for several years gaining knowledge. Since you are obviously much more intelligent than the average TBNer I can only imagine how hard it is for you to dummy everything down to our level. I'm not even sure why you continue to post since you have to technically explain everything you post. Must be a large burden for you. Thank you for your patience of us who are inadequate in our understanding.

I didn't intend to start a flame war, just had never seen that brand or design of hitch before, and thought some folks here might not have either.

Also, I thought that some enterprising TBNer might just decide it was a useful enough item to make for themselves.

And I for one, don't need the acrimony...

I spent some time at a farm today who's owner had a Delta Hook setup on all of his implements, at $300 each. Examining this setup showed me how it could allow an easier attachment with the implements. At a 50% lower price I could see me purchasing this product, even though I would still have to get off the tractor to handle the kick stands.
